ABOUT VÉRONIQUE
MY STORY
I grew up in the rural, cultural and historical region of eastern France called ‘La Franche-Comté’ near a small town called Sochaux famously known as the home of the car manufacturer Peugeot (other brands available!).
I then went to university for my Master’s Degree in the Franche-Comté capital city Besançon known for its sprawling Citadel.
Apart from being brought up on baguettes, yummy local sausages ‘les saucisses de Montbéliard et saucisses de Morteau’ and Comté cheese, I've had the pleasure of sampling the bordering cuisine of Switzerland – mainly its fondue, chocolate and yogurt.
You may think, why have I not mentioned what France is famous for yet? Okay, I am partial to a glass of champagne and Crémant d’Alsace, another neighbouring region. But I am not so keen on the local yellow wine of Arbois…yet!
I cannot conclude this without mentioning my loving and lovely close family without whom I wouldn’t be in England and online sharing my ‘Frenchness’ with you.
From the very young age of 7, I told my mother that I wanted to become a teacher. On one occasion, one morning walking to school, I declared to my dear Mum that it was unfair paying teachers to go to school but not the pupils! And here I am now offering my French tutoring services! Et voilà, merci!
There is potential in everyone. You and I just need to help you learn how to develop and achieve your true potential.
MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
I have been very fortunate to work with some lovely and talented people in various schools.
In London, I was a French Language Consultant for a well-known international home improvement company and also a French teacher for children aged 3 to 18 years.
After the move to Somerset, I became a French Club Leader in primary schools for two years.
In 2012, I worked as a French Language Assistant and a Teacher of French in an Independent School in Shaftesbury until its closure.
I am now working part time in one of the UK’s top independent co-educational boarding school for pupils aged 13 to 18 in Dorset.
What I find very rewarding in teaching French is learning from each and everyone of my students.
