FAQs
-
Are trial sessions free?Yes, the first 20 minute trial session is free during which I will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests. You can speak in French or in English.
-
How hard is French and how long does it take to learn?French is not a difficult language to learn. It depends on your application and the way it is taught. With me, learning French can be fun and simple, even the grammar! On average, it takes about 20-25 weeks or around 575 hours to learn, develop and achieve a target language.
-
How long will it take me to become fluent? The exact amount of time it will take you to become fluent will depend on a few factors such as your current level, your ability to learn and how intensively you study. Some will be able to go from beginner to fluency within a couple of months through some knowledge of similar languages and intensive study. Others will take longer. As long as you take regular lessons, you should develop and achieve quickly!
-
What learning goals can you help me with?During our introductory meeting, you will tell me what your goals are, and I’ll tailor the lessons to your needs. I can help you with improving your pronunciation, improving specific skills such as speaking, reading, writing & listening or grammar.
-
How are the lessons taught?Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive my full attention and can progress quickly. Lessons are 20’, 40’ or 60 minutes long and are taught via video call (Zoom) allowing you and I to communicate and share learning resources/materials as if we were in the same room.
-
I have never used Zoom, is it easy to set up?"Zoom is really easy to set up! I would advise you to download it in advance of the session. With Zoom, you can skip creating an account if you prefer not to. All you need is my Zoom meeting link, which will be emailed to you at the point of booking.
-
I cannot connect with my tutor for my lesson. What shall I do?After booking, you will receive a Zoom link. I will be waiting for you on Zoom, and it is your responsibility to contact me. Alternatively, if you already have the Zoom link and it is not connecting you to me, please double check you have not made a typo. If you still have no luck, please ring me on 07306 730006 or email me at vero@frenchtutorvero.com.
